The represented publication is closely attached to the series “All Family at the Piano”. This is the kind of an educational aid on the ensemble music making, which unites two collections of pieces by the composers of different styles. Firstly there go the miniatures in four hands by the famous Russian piano teacher Samuel Maikapar (1867–1938), who is truly considered to be the great figure in the children’s music literature development. All of them are songful and graceful by their form in spite of the mostly plain exposition (some are non legato). The whole material would be really useful for digital and ear coordination, so as for movements and musical taste, giving the patterns for expressive heartfelt interpretation. The second collection “Ten Five-Keyed Pieces” in four hands belongs to Ts. Kyui (1835–1918), composer, member of the Mighty Group (Moguchaya Kuchka) headed by Balakirev. All these pieces are permeated with poetical spirit, combining the oriental and Russian folk intonations. The pieces are convenient for small hands. Actually all the parts of the right hand are doubled with the left hand. Thus the second section of the collection is the kind of the continuation of the first one. All the ensembles have beneficial influence on the educational process during the prima vista lessons and home music making.Contents:S. Maikapar. FIRST STEPS. Easy pieces for piano in 4 hands.
